2. Properties:White powdery crystal, easily soluble in water, relative density 1.896, decomposed at about 40 degrees, heated to 150 degrees and completely dehydrated into anhydrous anhydrous calcium nitrate, heated to 500 degrees nitric acid
Calcium decomposes to form calcium nitrite and releases oxygen. When heated, it decomposes into calcium oxide and nitrogen oxide gas. It is easily soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, methyl acetate, liquid ammonia, and nitric oxide.
Calcium nitrate is hygroscopic and easily deliquesces in the air.
3. Purpose:
①Industry: used as refrigerant and cement antifreeze, phosphating agent in the steel industry.
②Agriculture: It is a new type of compound fertilizer containing nitrogen and calcium. It has fast fertilizer effect. It can quickly replenish calcium and nitrogen when washed with water or sprayed on foliage. It is widely used in greenhouses and large areas.
